The MBML Retreat has been organized annually by the Department of Medicine II since 2005.
During the three-day event, students from all three years of the program are expected to present their research progress in form of a poster or a short talk. Students are provided with a possibility to share their results, practise their presentation skills, and in receive constructive criticism from local faculty and invited experts in the field. The event culminates in presentation of poster awards and MBML coursework certificates for graduating students.
This interdisciplinary meeting encourages scientific communication and competence through exchange of ideas and knowledge of all participating schools and institutions of the MBML. The students actively take part in reasoning processes among themselves and in interaction with the invited speakers. In doing so, they aquire valuable scientific skills for their future careers.
Last year the MBML hosted a special 20th Anniversary Alumni Retreat, featuring talks from former MBML directors and established alumni.
